Jean and Stanley Lewis were born in Kent and Sussex and spent their formative years at their Grandmother’s and playing cricket. Their war years were spent dancing and shooting at foreigners in Tonbridge and North Africa, and on VE day they conga’d and trudged through mud on the Tonbridge castle lawns and Italy.
They raised three children and retired to Sandwich, Kent where they painted and got involved with landscapes and the Women’s Institute.
Their second son gave birth to Gerald in 2002.
